It almost feels likeSpider-Man: Across the Spiderverse came to PlayStation. We never know what’s happening on the inside, maybe a fascinating game is under wraps and someone killed it without even the world knowing about it. But some online sleuths are on the work to bring the news that may spark a heaty debate.
The latest leak suggests just the same as a new video of aSpider-Mangame that surfaced on the internet. Insomniac’sSpider-Manhas got the critics sitting on the edge of their chairs and is a commercial success. The first game in the series is also considered one of the best games based on comic books.
This Could Be The Biggest Heartbreak For Spider-Man Fans Ever
By the looks of the video, it definitely holds the potential to become the best comic book-based video game. It appeared like a multiverse game given the appearance of multiple variants in it. DubbedSpider-Man: The Great Web, it was supposed to be a co-op and a live service game.
Thevideo showsmultiplayer elements with visually stunning gameplay that might easily hook a player from the very first minute of the game. Moreover, all the Spideys were up against Sinister Six, a band of supervillains in the Spiderverse.
UPDATE: The video has been removed, somewhat lending credence to it being real.
The opening dialogue of the game, which is narrated by voice actor Yuri Lowenthal, goes like this,
New York City. Nothing in the whole world I wouldn’t do for this big, beautiful apple. One moment you’re scarfing down a slice from Vinnie’s, the next – you’re stopping a super-villain prison break. Fans witnessed some leaked images associated with the game a few months back and this is the first time a video was put on the table in front of them.

Though it was already known in the previous leak thatThe Great Webis lost forever and after what fans just saw in the video, it could not be more heartbreaking to see a game succumbing to corporate affairs. While it received support from Insomniac it was reportedly left on the table by Sony as it pursued single-player games.
