What did Trish Stratus say about her controversial WWE moment?
Trish Stratus mostly appeared in s*xually themed story arcs in WWE. However, she raised eyebrows after being featured in one of the most controversial moments in the show yet. It was a story arc where the WWE Hardcore Champion was asked to act like a dog, bark, and then strip on the ring by the former head, Vince McMahon.
The hardcore WWE viewers still remember the moment when Vince McMahon humiliated Stratus publicly. But according to her, she had another motive behind agreeing to that story angle. While speaking atThe Love Of Wrestlingconvention in Liverpool (viaMetro), she revealed that she knew that she would get a chance to slap McMahon, a moment which she regarded important for her character.
“Vince pitched the angle to me like this — ‘so we’re going to have this angle where you are barking like a dog and get really humiliated, and basically hit rock bottom.’ And I was like, ‘amazing!’. Because I knew a couple of weeks later, I would be getting my comeuppance on him and I would be slapping him on the grandest stage of them all, which is Wrestlemania, and turning on him. I was going on to stand up for myself, not needing a man to lean on and fighting for what I needed to fight for.”
