Microsoft’s gaming console, Xbox has been the butt of jokes due to the confusion surrounding the company’s strange naming habits of its consoles. And it seems that some peoples worse fears are coming true as one person on Reddit claims to have had an Xbox One X delivered instead of an Xbox Series X.
According toPress Start, (Thanks,Pure Xbox) those living in Australia have already been receiving their next-generation Xbox Series X consoles while we eagerly wait for November 10. Posted on November 7, Reddit user L3Janeshared an imageof their Series X box they had received as part of their Xbox All Access pre-order. The thing is, it’s not a Series X, and instead it’s a current-generation Xbox One X.
The order was put in through Telstra and they say, “I triple checked the order and it was for the Series X” and share an image of the email confirming theyhad ordered the Series X. The user says that they have reached out to Telstra to rectify the situation, and had been told to go through the returns process and order a new console. Which as you’re probably aware, getting a next-generation console right now is a big…troublesome.
So, just got my All Access Series X Pre-Order…fromr/XboxSeriesX
Hopefully, this is just a one-off mistake, but with consoles due to be shipped and delivered over the next few days, it’s certainly a worry that current-generation consoles are going to get muddled with the next-generation ones. In September when pre-orders went live,Amazon saw a huge surge in searches and trafficfor the current-gen console, meaning that people searching for the Xbox Series X pre-orders were instead landing on the console page for the Xbox One X. Yikes.
If you’re waiting on your pre-order for the console, be that Series X or Series S, it’s officiallaunch day is November 10, meanwhile, thePS5 consolewill also be arriving this week on November 12 in the US, and a week later in the UK.
