Game of Thronesbecomes the victim ofFamily Guy’s wrath.

Family Guyhas been running since 1999 and throughout the years, the animated series has made it its business to joke about celebrities and pop culture in the most brutal way possible. Whether it’s Stewie and Brian’s visit to the fuzzy world of Disney or Indiana Jones’ adventures,Family Guysure knows how to make its audience double over with laughter with meta-commentary.

Amongst many such episodes, our favorite has to be the time when the show parodied one of the most iconic shows in television history –Game of Thrones. In just under seven minutes,Family Guygave us a summarized version of the fantasy-drama but dare we say that it ended better than the actual show?

In season 20 (episode 14 –HBO-No), Peter’s uncle passes away which leads them to use his HBO Max account until his card expires. While binge-watching on the streaming platform, the Griffins come across three shows –Big Little Lies, Succession, and of course,Game of Thrones.

As they watchGoT,the events of the entire series begin unfolding with Peter playing the role ofKit Harington’s Jon Snow. Except, his name is Jon Yellowsnow in the parody. As Peter leaves for King’s Landing in order to claim the Iron Throne, Lois’ version of Catelyn Stark tells him to be careful to which he replies,“I will be handsome and that will be enough.”Clearly,Family Guywas not holding any punches back.

The parody also sees Lois playing Cersei Lannister aka Hearsay comforting Stewie’s Joffrey who wants to claim the throne for himself. As Jon Yellow Snow confronts Joffrey, Donna’s Daenerys also rides into the parody on her purple dragon, informing them about the White Walkers headed their way.

As they prepare for The Long Night, Peter describes it as“the most epic battle of all time that nobody will see because it’s too dark, and we’ll say it’s because they have bad TV”taking a hilarious dig at the dark visuals of the show.

Fans were absolutely head over heels for this parody, especially the beginning which showed the map ofGame of Throneswhich included ‘The Wall’ between the USA and Mexico, Normanfell, as well as a gay version of West Westeros with a rainbow hanging over it.

Take a look at the fans’ reaction to one of the most creative episodes inFamily Guyhistory as they credit it for having a better ending thanGame of Thrones:

The Long Night ends with Daenerys burning everyone on the battlefield with her dragon with Peter screaming“Stop! Stop! That’s us! That’s us!”In the end, Jon Snow becomes the one to sit on the Iron Throne, surrounded by rubbles of destruction. He vows to become a great king. Making it illegal to say“My trainer kicked my butt this morning”and only allowing to post wedding photos once on social media are just some of the things Jon will work on during his regime. Honestly, sounds like a solid plan!

The Parody Caught the Eye ofGame of Thrones’ Gwendoline Christie

Gwendoline Christieplayed the role of Brienne of Tarth inGoTand the character was supposed to be a part ofFamily Guy’s parody on her show. However, the “actress” was late for the sketch and showed up during theirSuccessionparody instead.

As Peter’s Logan Roy tries to choose which family member will take over his very successful company, he states that he would just run it himself with the help of Big Bird“since he’s at HBO now.”Apparently, Peter had confused Christie’s Brienne of Tarth for Big Bird. Classic misunderstanding.

Voiced by Alex Borstein, Christie states,“I’m actually Gwendoline Christie. I played Brienne in ‘Game of Thrones.’ I fear I’m maybe a bit late.”Well, just a little. While her arrival on the show might have been a little late, it didn’t go to waste as Peter ended up giving his company to her.

Christie posted the short clip of her “cameo” on herInstagramwriting,“Thank you, I think? @familyguyfox”with a laughing emoji.

Here’s to Family Guy for turning epic battles and high drama into comedic gold. If Westeros had a throne for best parody, there’s no doubt it would be awarded to the Griffins.
