There is no release date announced officially for the Rockstar’s game but fans are already celebrating being ‘one year’ away from the launch. They are full of hope on this one. But setting the bar too may just not be feasible if things go sideways.

Let’s Take a Look Back at What Happens With Overhyping Something

GTA 6is perhaps the most hyped-up video game in the market’s history. That’s understandable when a beloved series gets a new product having a range of qualities. The graphics, the largest map in the series-ever, new mechanics, and more.

And there will be violence inGTA 6for sure; it’s up to the users how ethically they will be playing. But the hype being created for the game can be devastating if the users don’t like it. It has happened with other video games before.

Even the biggest games that received ample time for their development cycle have flopped. TakeStarfield, for that matter;it took eight years to come into existenceand we can see what happened in there, nothing.

Modern Warfare 3,Battlefield 2042,No Man’s Sky, and more were supposed to be some great video games; they failed to entertain the audience too. AlthoughNo Man’s Skymanaged to make the mends and is now a better game. I want to say the same forBattlefield 2042but there’s nothing left to give it a turning point.

And it’s not justGTA 6, but video games includingHalf Life 3andBeyond Good & Evil 2have long been rumored to be in development. They’ve got a lot to live up to. And when the top guns likeGTA 6are arriving, fans are likely to invest themselves in it more. It’s not going to be a small game as we know it.

EvenThe Last of Us 2wasn’t immune to this; fans discourse surrounding it became adversarial. However, it was a commercial success and became one of the fastest-selling video games for PlayStation 4. It was important to include this. Creating hype just backfires and hits harder than when there are fewer expectations.

GTA 6 Must Continue the Tradition by Keeping Discontentment at Bay

When it comes to Rockstar’sGrand Theft Autoseries, disappointment is far from the community’s entry zone as far as it’s history is concerned. Mainline video games have simply captivated the audience for years.San Andreasis still a treat for a bored soul.

And then there’s the good oldVice City, which will, sort of, be the setting of the next mainline game in the series. From 2D to 3D to realism, every time there was a release. But there were controversies. Well, that’s natural when the game allows for violence against normal civilians.

The trailer for the game does look like it is going to pull up the series entirely to a new level, should it do justice to what we saw in there. They better not pull aWatch DogsorSpider-Man. That will really be heartbreaking. But then I believe the latest technology that has given us visual treats likeHellblade 2and the upcomingDragon Ballgame,Sparking Zero.

GTA 6 and Social Justice: Tackling Relevant Issues Within the Game’s Narrative

Although it’s not all bad creating that hype. There’s good hype and bad hype.Watch DogsandSpider-Manare the examples of the latter. People want truth; they need it. Otherwise, it’s all just marketing to sell a product. Maybe make a good one; you won’t really need advertising.
