One of the most fan-favorite actors of this generation, Jeremy Renner became a household name when he joined the MCU as Hawkeye. His superhero story started with a cameo inThor(2011) and is still ongoing. He was last seen as Clint Barton in the Disney+ series,Hawkeye, with the character rumored to appear in future projects.

But in recent times, he is making headlines after he joined the $372M franchise,Knives Out. Directed by Rian Johnson, Renner will be joining the detective movie series for its third installment, alongside movie stars like Mila Kunis and Josh Brolin. But there seems to be some discontentment regarding this, as well as Renner in general. But is it all really that simple, or is there more at play?
Jeremy Renner Has Been Facing Some Hate From Audiences
In an unfortunate accident that shook many,Jeremy Renneralmost lost his life on 1st January 2023. But to his credit, the actor made a miraculous recovery in a very short time and is already back to work. But when he was announced to have joined the Netflix movie seriesKnives Outstarring Daniel Craig in the lead, there were some comments, and not of the good kind.
As many would remember, during the divorce case, the actor was accused by his ex-wife, Sonni Pacheco, of abuse. He allegedly threatened to kill her and even stuck a gun in his own mouth. She also accused him of having shot into the ceiling, while their then-new-born daughter Ava was in the room. She also accused him of drug use and said he left the substance out in the open where their daughter could reach. She also asked for sole physical custody of their daughter during the divorce.

But the court case was settled with both parties sharing custody, andRenneris often seen posting about his daughter on social media. He also was part of a SuperBowl ad alongside his daughter, earlier this year. To dig up on that years later and make hate comments about the actor is only yet another way of trying to stir problems it seems.
Some also brought up an old video where Renner and his MCU co-star, Chris Evans spoke in a degrading way about Scarlett Johansson’s character, Black Widow. And though both actors later apologized for the way they spoke, and what they said, things didn’t calm down for a while.
