Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake Was ‘Nearly Finished’ in 1989

Through his Twitter account, though, Hideo Kojima revealed that the game was delayed due to an emergency faced by the team developingSD Snatcher, another 8-bit game by Konami for the Sony MSX2. Kojima-san revealed that not just the team working onMetal Gear 2but everyone else at Konami also joined forces to reviseSD Snatcher:

One of the key takeaways from the tweet was thatSolid Snake‘s dev time was not the only area affected by the emergency withSD Snatcher. The former’s release interval was also adjusted not to coincide and possibly cannibalize the latter.
