The executive producer of the show, Steve Holland, toldTV Linethat theSpeedactress was indeed approached to make a guest appearance in the finale of the show. However, Bullock was already busy shooting a film at the time and politely declined their request to be on the show. Holland said,
Sandra Bullock was actually our first go-to because of Koothrappali’s long love of her. We were really excited about it, but we got a polite decline because she was shooting a movie and wasn’t available. But we were very excited Sarah was available to come on.
Buffy The Vampire Slayerstar Sarah Michelle Gellar was ultimately cast in the role of Raj’s date in the finale. It would have been great if Bullock had made a guest appearance on the show as it would have been a wonderful character moment for Raj and she is also very good at comedy. Nevertheless, Gellar did a fine job replacing Bullock in the episode.
