The Sopranosis a 1999 American drama series that focused on Tony Soprano, the head of an Italian-American mafia. Created by David Chase, the series was quite a success as fans were thrown into the nostalgia ofThe Godfatherfranchise.

During season 2 ofThe Sopranos,the character of Salvatore Bonpensiero (played by Vincent Pastore) found his fate at the hands of Tony Soprano. In the show, it is revealed that Bonpensiero was actually working for the F.B.I. and hence, Tony Soprano has no choice but to kill him.

In the final episode ofTalking Sopranos,creator David Chase was called for an interview. The creator revealed that he regretted killing off the character of Bonpensiero in the showbecause he was a beloved character!

“They live in New Jersey with the big houses? I don’t get it. They use language – four-letter words – in front of their daughters, at the dinner table? I don’t get that.”

Whatever the case may be,The Sopranosreceived a rating of 9.2/10 on IMDB and a whopping 92% on Rotten Tomatoes. With 6 seasons to its name, the American drama series is available to stream on Max in the U.S.
