According to a prominentCall of Dutyleaker, fan favouriteWarzonemap Verdansk won’t be returning to the popular Battle Royale game until 2025.
It was previously reported byInsiderGaming’s Tom Henderson that the original Verdansk would be returning to Call of Duty: Warzone by the end of 2024. Season 4 Reloaded will include a new 6v6 map, a special mutation mode, and a new spin on an iconic map.
While Verdansk’s return hasn’t been made official by anybody at Activison, it looks like the map has now been delayed internally, as leakerBobNetworkUK took to X(formerly Twitter) yesterday to announce the news.

According to Bob, Verdansk is now set to return “during the mid-lifecycle of Black Ops 6.” This means fans won’t get to drop back into the map until 2025. Bob also stated that Urzikstan, which is the current main Battle Royale map, will continue into the release of Black Ops 6 and received new gameplay updates, map updates, and a ranked play mode that will arrive with Season 1. The aim is to “compensate” for the delay with new content for the current map.
While it’s sad news for fans eager to jump back in Verdansk, another leak from Bob gave Warzone players some more positive news. The leaker also claims that Treyarch Studios, the development studio behind the upcoming Black Ops 6, is also working on its own Resurgence map for Call of Duty: Warzone.

It’s claimed that the new, small-sized map will be released “at some point during Black Ops 6’s lifecycle.” Bob also states that the map will be called “Area 99,” with more information on the map coming in the future.
