A recent Reddit post has stirred up some disappointment, as The Power Axe, a beloved weapon from the first game, might not be making it to the sequel. However, all hope isn’t lost. Fans feel it might be added later on, thanks to one big reason.

Don’t Expect to See This Weapon in Space Marine 2

For those unfamiliar with the Thunder Axe, it was a fan-favorite in the original game, known for its sheer power and satisfying combat mechanics. Many players expected it to make a return inSpace Marine 2, but it seems that won’t be the case. Initially, at least.

This came to people’s attention after a Redditor posted about not seeing the Thunder Axe (or the Power Axe) from the first game in the leaked dev build for the sequel.

However, there’s no need to panic. OP believes the Thunder Axe will likely be added in a future update.

Saber Interactive, the studio behind the game, has a record of providing extensive post-launch support for its releases. It previously worked onWorld War Z, which has received a lot of free updates.

Additionally, it looks like theSpace Marine 2weapons list is a lot more than the previous game, so there’ll be plenty of alternatives to go with, like the iconic Chainsword.

The team at Saber is also very passionate about this project, so it almost feels like a given that we’ll get to see the return of the Thunder Axe at some point, if not at launch.

Another comment solidifies how well of a rapport Saber has established with its player base. After hearing it was developing this game, the player had no qualms about placing their faith in the studio.

One player wished to see it in the game. Wielding the Thunder Axe inSpace Marine 2multiplayer modes would’ve been a ton of fun for sure, but for now, they’ll stick with playing PvP in the original game just to use the weapon.

So, while the Thunder Axe may not be in the initial release of the game, there’s still a lot to look forward to. The Operations mode seems to hold a lot of potential.
