Those who long for the old days of Azeroth can now go back, as Blizzard has announced Warcraft Remastered Battle Chest during the 30th-anniversary celebrations for the series, which contains remastered versions of all three games, as well as their respective expansions.

The Warcraft Trilogy Has Been Reborn In The Battle Chest
The remastered Warcraft I & II versions contain updated visuals, with cleaner sprites and backgrounds that look appealing on HD screens. Players also can switch to the original visuals.
The controls in both games have been altered to matchmodern RTS titles, including box unit selection. Players can also access a mission select screen from the main menu.

Warcraft 2’s online multiplayer is still supported, while old custom maps will still work with the remastered version of th game.
WhileWarcraft 3 Reforgedhas been available for years, it has also received some updates alongside the launch of the Battle Chest. These include updated/uprezzed visuals, improved UI, and changes to the Ranked Play.

The Warcraft Remastered Battle Chest was shadow-dropped during the Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct, which means players can relive the wars of the past right now.

Sadly, these revamped titles haven’t been added to PC Game Pass or received console iterations. They would have been a great addition to celebrate the series' 30th anniversary, especially asStarcraft recently appearedon the service.
The success ofWorld of Warcraftand how it has continued the lore of the series means that it’s unlikely Blizzard will release a fourth entry. Chances are, there will be nothing but spin-offs for the foreseeable future.
MaybeMicrosoft’s acquisitionof Activision Blizzard will prompt expansions of classic franchises, but for now, the remasters are the only real continuation fans will get.
