A few months back, Riot Games announced thatYoruwouldgo through some significant changes in a future update. At the time, we didn’t have many details on the Yoru rework, but recently, the developers gave us a better look at the upcoming agent changes.

Valorantreleased Yoru back in January 2021, and it’s not been more than a year sinceValorantplayers have been enjoying the Japanese agent in the game.

However, ever since Yoru came out, the pick rate of the agent has been considerably low compared to other agents on the roster. That’s primarily because Yoru’s abilities didn’t meet most players' expectations.

Upcoming Yoru Changes in Valorant

Riot Games listened to the community and announced major Yoru rework. And recently, inState of The Agents - Yoru Part 2, devs talked in length about the upcoming changes.

It’s important to note that these abilities are still WIP, so the devs might introduce some more changes before releasing the Yoru rework globally.

As announced in theprevious Yoru update, the agent’s fakeout ability will replace the fake footsteps with a full copy of the agent. The mirage will run forward to confuse the enemy, and it will explode when an enemy shoots at it. The copy will look different to your teammates, but it will look utterly identical to the enemies.

Gatecrash will now allow you to create a fake teleport to confuse the enemies. Players can trigger this teleport from a distance creating the same sound and effect of an original teleport. However, in the latest update, it was revealed the fake teleport would leave a puddle on the ground after it is triggered.

Dimensional Drift

Interestingly, Yoru’s Ultimate will also go through some significant changes. Firstly, enemies will no longer see Yoru when you are in the Dimensional drift. However, the “invisible” time will be reduced to prevent it from being too overpowered. Also, after the update, players can cast other Yoru’s abilities while in ultimate. At the same time, launching the utilities will take a bit longer.

Yoru Rework Release Date

On one side, Riot Games confirmed that Valorant Episode 4 Act 2 wouldn’t bring us a new map it an agent. However, the good thing is that devs aim to release Yoru Rework with the major update, which is expected to release on March 1st, 2022.
