But there have been some cries about how a particular pair’s arc should have ended as well.
This said pair is none other than Jennifer Aniston’s Rachel and David Schwimmer’s Ross, which pretty much served as the main story arc of the series in ways more than one. However,had things taken a different turnwith Rachel instead choosing to focus more on her career and sticking to her decision to leave, it would have served as a more befitting end to her character arc.
For one, going back to the roots, she was introduced as a rich, spoiled brat who couldn’t live on her own without her daddy’s money. But over the course of the series, she developed so much that she eventually went on to become a big name in the fashion industry living in Paris as a single mother who has it all. Plus, it would have served as a change in expectations as well.

Asr/Fancy_Buddy_418backed up these opinions on Reddit, “I know Ross and Rachel was set up for the entire show but I think it would’ve been amazing if in the end Rachel did go to Paris… It would’ve been such a change in expectation if all this time you’re expecting them to end up together but in the end Rachel has to focus on her career and she goes.”
That said, the Rachel-Ross romance could have been avoided in the latter seasons, because while Rachel getting off the plane for Ross does sound good on paper, the show choosing to give her a better ending where she focused more on herself would have redeemed her character better.But, of course, this has become a matterof debate among fans as well.
