It’s been a while since rumors have started circulating around a new Silent Hill entry, but there has never been a credible leak or official confirmation. Thankfully, a new unannounced Silent Hill game has recently been rated in South Korea, which could be a positive sign for all the previous rumors.

As reported byGematsu, the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea has recently rated a game titled Silent Hill: The Short Message without referring to any target platforms for the game. It’s yet to be seen what this game could be and whether it is directly related to Konami’s Silent Hill franchise or not, but the game has been submitted by UNIANA, the same company that submitted Konami’s eFootball 2023 for South Korea’s game rating committee.

Even the rumors have never mentioned such a name, though Capcom and Konami insiderDuskGolemrecently revealed on Twitter that we would be hearing officially about the next Silent Hill entry in the near future. According to the leaker, Silent Hill: The Short Message is a video game as it has been rated as a “Video Game Content” that can be published on PC, consoles, mobile, or arcade. That being said, no specific platforms have been assigned to the game so far.

The rating for Silent Hill: The Short Message was filed in August, and the game has received a Mature rating in South Korea.

DuskGolem claims that Silent Hill: The Short Message is actually the rumored project Sakura from Konami, which is apparently a free-to-play demo featuring an SMS messaging system in the gameplay. The leaker believes that the game’s title refers to the messaging system.

Keep in mind that all the information above is just speculation and, for now, we have no official data on Silent Hill: The Short Message other than the fact that it has been rated in South Korea as a video game. At the very least, The Short Message is expected to be a mobile game, but we still need to wait for official confirmation by Konami.
