In the world of sitcoms, there aren’t many pieces that have left as great of an impact on viewers worldwide asTwo and a Half Men. Hailed as one of the most entertaining pieces of sheer brilliance throughout the 12 seasons it aired — even without Charlie Sheen, yes — a reunion of all the original actors and their respective characters has long been in demand by fans.

Two and a Half Men.

And just that reunion was gifted to fans in the most unexpected yet full-circle moment. In a surprising turn of events that no one saw coming, Sheen was seen shining with his old pals from the earlier seasons of the saga back when he was still a part of it, in the first episode of the first season of Chuck Lorre’s critically commended comedy seriesBookie.

Ever sinceCharlie Sheenopted out ofTwo and a Half Menfollowing his falling out with the show creatorChuck Lorre, there had been a lot ofdebate if the dynamic duo could ever join hands back togetherto work on another entertaining piece like the hit sitcom. Turns out, they did decide to collaborate again, even if it was for a cameo scene in Lorre’sBookie.

In the first episode of season 1 of the currently ongoing comedy series, Sheen played himself alongside the “half-man” from the sitcom, Angus T. Jones, now all grown up, who also played himself in the cameo that was a bit of an Easter egg for fans. What made it all even more memorable was Lorre re-creating a well-remembered moment from the pilot of the sitcom.

As fans must remember, the pilot featured a young Jake (Jones, who was 9 back then) watching his uncle Charlie Harper (Sheen) enjoy a match of poker with his pals. Bringing those sweet memories back, almost everyone who sat at that poker table in 2003 was brought back for theBookiescene, including Eddie Gorodetsky, Eugene Byrd, Frankie Jay Allison, and Dan Foster.

The reunion scene in the comedy series (see onYouTube) featured the show’s leads Danny and Ray visiting Sheen at the rehab center, who isn’t staying at the facility but is just running the poker game there as he is fond of the location and free parking. And as heartfelt as it felt, this very idea did give fans the closure they had been seeking from the saga all along.

What the cast had to say about theTwo and a Half Menreunion scene

Needless to say, while the unexpected reunion scene turned out to be a truly iconic and memorable moment for fans worldwide, even show creator cum runner Chuck Lorre couldn’t be more fond of it. Talking about it in an interview withVariety, the mastermind had said back then:

We both – at the same time when we were talking about the scene, we both went, let’s recreate the poker scene from the pilot of ‘Two and a Half Men.’ Which is those guys at the table, 20 years ago, when we shot the pilot. Angus was nine years old, and [as Jake], he was in his pajamas, annoying the guys playing poker. And now 20 years later, let’s see if Angus wants to come play and be in the scene as one of the poker players now.

Nick Bakay, on the other hand, who serves as the co-creator ofBookiealongside Lorre, further emphasized how “that scene grew out of some back and forth, in terms of what was the comfort zone of what Charlie wanted to do. And then, that was Chuck’s idea, sort of a little gift to the ‘Two and a Half Men’ completionists out there.”

To say the least,as heartwarming as it all felt, it also had fans questioning if this served as a precursor to the reunion moment. When asked about it in his interview with Variety, Lorre said, “I don’t think so. Not that I’m aware of. It’s foolish to say never. It’s still to me more gratifying and fun to do new stuff. And to let the stuff we did in the past be the past.”

That sounds like nothing big is planned for the original old cast to follow this reunion moment as of now. But for now, we’re sure fans are content with getting even this much, considering how it serves as the perfect full-circle moment for the beloved actors and characters that fans grew up watching for as long as they can remember in the hit sitcom.
