Naughty Dog’s Vice President has reflected on the studio’s first PC launch.
The news comes from a profile inGQ magazineon Baker, and details his friendship with Neil Druckmann, creator ofThe Last of Us. “He’s a demanding actor,” Druckmann says. “Troy’s trying to stretch the limits of what this thingisand often he succeeds at making it better than it was in my imagination.” Casting Baker in his next project was a no-brainer for Druckmann. “In a heartbeat I would always work with Troy.”

Details about Druckmann and Naughty Dog’s activities are scarce. After Sony incorrectly attributed a quote from Druckmann,the famed developer set the record straight.
“I am working on a new [project] right now. And it’s maybe the most excited I’ve been for a project yet. I can’t talk about it or our bosses will get very mad at me… I’m not only excited for this game that we’re making – and it’s, it’s something really fresh for us – but I’m excited to see how the world reacts to it.”
Druckmann acknowledges that he’s in the spotlight more now thanks to HBO’s success ofThe Last of Us. The show has brought in a whole new audience that has missed out on his games before, and they’re all waiting for what he and Naughty Dog have in store.

It may be a few years until we find out what Naughty Dog is up to. After working onThe Last of Us Online, the team canceled development on the title in December 2023, acknowledging that it would come at the cost of making single-player narrative games that have defined Naughty Dog.
