Speaking withIGN, Teague was told that he would be a great choice for the role of Link, the main protagonist of the video game. When asked if he talked to Ball about the prospect, the actor replied that he hadn’t as he did not know anything about Link at all. However, he did add that while having a conversation with Ball, the director told him that it was too bad that he wasn’t young enough to play the character.
“I have not told Wes that because I know nothing about Link. But uh, we were working on the movie [Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes] at one point and he goes, ‘Too bad you’re too old to play Link.’ [laughs] So, I think I’m too old to play Link!”

It looks like Ball saw some potential in Teague when it came to playing Link in hisThe Legend of Zeldafilm. Unfortunately, the age difference proved to be a barrier between the two.
Fans Agree with Wes Ball’s Decision
Having been born in December 1998, Teague is currently twenty-five years old. While he sure is quite young, he just isn’t young enough to play Ball’s Link. It is evident from Ball’s words that he would’ve been interested in Teague playing the part in his upcoming film if it wasn’t for the age factor.

On the other hand, fans are glad that Teague won’t be playing the character as they believe that someone who doesn’t know anything about Link wouldn’t be able to do appropriate justice to him. Here are some of the comments fans left on IGN’s Instagram post,
“@skinny_smalls_ : “I know nothing about link” okay bye then.
@abisaibonov: Yes he’s too old.
@leon.garcia20: If bro knows nothing then look for some other link in your career.
@zodiakknight: Pls get someone that is a fan of the series omg.

@moogu_c: He would not make a great link tf.
@joshdraws_509: “I know nothing about link”?? Bro I’ve never played a Zelda game after Ocarina of Time and I know about damn Link.”
Needless to say, fans of the video game wholeheartedly agree with Ball’s decision not to extend his professional relationship with Teague inThe Legend of Zeldalive-action. We can’t wait to see who gets the golden opportunity of playing Link in the film!
