As you progress through the main story ofTitan Quest 2, you might have found that therearen’t exactly a whole lot of challenging bosses. Well, upon stepping into the Vineyards, that all changes.
Pan is the first difficult fight of the campaign, and if you want to stand a chance against him, you’re going to need to enter this arena with every advantage on your side.

This fight will test your endurance, your defenses and your reflexes more than anything you’ve encountered so far.
So, strap on your gear, tune up those masteries andget ready to challenge the very Gods themselves!

Preparation Phase
After you’ve been through Pan’s trial and made it out of the cave alive. You should return to Pyrgos to prepare yourself.
Before you even think about entering the arena, it’s important to ensure you’re not underleveled. Personally, I would recommend that you only start this fight at aroundlevel 17-18.

You mightalready be at this levelif you’ve fully explored the region and completed all the world quests. But if you’ve been strictly doing the story,I would seriously recommend that you do a bit of exploring first.
In addition, quests often give active and passive points, and maximizing those gains in yourmasteries and attributescan often be the difference between life and death.

Builds and Resistances
Furthermore, if you can, focus on improving yourfire defenseswith gear drops found around the world or through the merchants in Pyrgos. The majority of Pan’s attacks dealfire damage, so increasing your resistance will help you a lot if you struggle to dodge his moves.
Naturally, Ranged builds are going to have an easier time here, as many of Pan’s attacks are the most damaging when you’re right beside him. If you may focus on dodging and chipping away at his health from a distance, you’ll have a much easier time. For Storm users, try outIce Shard, and for Rogues, aDoom Trick Shotbuild does wonders.

If you are a melee build, focus on skills that improve yourarmor, defense or even your movement speedto assist in dodging. Don’t get too cocky, and keep moving!
Attack Breakdown
Pan - Phase 1
Once you’re geared and ready, enter Pan’s arena and prepare to fight. Pan has way more health than anything you’ve faced so far, andtwo phasesthat you need to be aware of.
Before you even start attacking, attempt to get a feel of his moves and the flow of the battle. The first major attacks are as follows:
Attack Name
Description
How to Avoid
Light Slash
Pan will swing with his weapon in a cone shape in front of him, dealing heavy physical damage. He will perform this tack twice before switching to another move.
Simply step back or move through him to avoid it. This attack is very slow and easy to predict.
Magic Bolts
This boss will send out 4 homing missiles, which deal small amounts of fire damage. Though these are easily avoidable.
Step to the side, or dodge horizontally to avoid the bolts. Be careful, as they may come back around to hit you again.
Pan will build up energy for a second and then leap forward, slamming into wherever you are standing. It doesn’t give you a huge amount of time to dodge, but you should know it’s coming by the charge-up animation. Upon landing, a large, damaging circle will spread from the impact point. The edge of the ring is the only part that can hurt you.
To avoid this, try and have 2 dodges available. First, dodge backwards away from the leap, and then dodge forward towards Pan to avoid the expanding circle. If you run away from the circle, most often it will catch you and continuously deal heavy damage.
Wild Charge
This is often the first attack that is used when you enter the arena. Pan will lower his head and then charge forward, leaving a trail of flames in his wake. He will stop upon hitting the edge of the arena, but the flames will stay, leaving a hazard you need to stay away from.
Dodge to the side and move away from the affected area, and try to attack from a distance if possible. If not, just lure him away and melee him.
Pan - Phase 2
At around 60% of his health, Pan will yell, “I’ve had enough of you!”, and the second, more dangerous phase will begin. Not only will Pan get3 new moves, but he can use every single one of his previous moves, too.
Pillars of Flame
Pan will plunge a flaming fist into the ground and cause 5 pillars of flame to rise around him. This is telegraphed pretty well, and you’ll see the blue target circles, where the pillars will emerge. Afterwards, this attack will leave circles of flame that deal damage over time if you step into them.
You don’t have to move much for this one. Simply step out of the target circles, and make sure to avoid the pools of fire afterwards.
Death Flute
Pan will put his horn up to his mouth and perform a series of wave attacks in a cone formation in front of him. While these attacks don’t do a lot of damage, they cover a wide area, slowing you for the duration.
As soon as you hear the horn sound, try and get as far away from Pan as possible, or if you can, behind him. If you’re in front of him, it will be hard to escape from the damaging area.
Burning Nova Blast
This can almost be seen as Pan’s ultimate attack, and as far as I’m aware, he can only use it once. He will gather energy and then shoot out a series of fire waves around him. After the first iteration, he will then send out two series of fire attacks in a spiral around him, clockwise and anticlockwise.
Don’t bother about damaging him during this phase. The best way to dodge this is by moving as little as possible. Perform small movements, side to side, to dodge through the gaps in the fire. Stay as far back as possible, so the gaps in Pan’s attacks are as wide as they can be.
Remnants and Re-fighting Bosses
At the end of the fight, you’re able to check the chest to get a gold ol’loot-splosion. In addition, you may notice thatPan drops his hornonto the ground.
You can take this horn over to theRitual Shrineback in Pyrgos to unlock theMemory Knotnear Pan’s Arena. You can pay money at the Memory Knot to re-fight Pan as many times as you wish.
If you want the fight to be a bit more difficult, and drop better gear, perform one of the rituals of Aresat the Ritual Shrine to up Pan’s level by up to 5 times.
