The live-action series Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan isgetting a live-action movieon May 26. The series, a spin-off from Hirohiko Araki’s JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, first aired in 2020 and was inspired by the manga of the same name. Kishibe Rohan first appeared on our radars in the fourth part ofJoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable. Rohan proved to be a very interesting protagonist, and boy are we glad to see his story continuing on our screens.
The spin-off series follows manga artist Kishibe Rohan as he travels around the world getting inspiration from people’s lives. He does this using his ability “Heaven’s Door”, a manifestation of his inner strength, to read a person and learn everything there is to know about them. Naturally, the movie titled Rohan Kishibe Goes to the Louvre, is set in Paris. Themovie’s official websitejust opened on Wednesday, revealing a trailer and visual.
Both Issei Takahasi as Kishibe Rohan and Kyoka Izumi as Rohan’s editor will be featured in the movie. Along with the cast, staff from the series will also be returning for the movie. Kazutaka Watanabe will be directing the movie, with scripts by JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure anime writer Yasuko Kobayashi. Joining the slew of Kishibe Rohan veterans, Naruyoshi Kikuchi will becomposing the musicand Isao Tsuge will be the character design supervisor.NHK Enterprises, NHK, and P.I.C.C. are producing the movie.
Rohan’s actor Issei Takahashi revealed that they are in fact currently filming in Paris, since they’ve wrapped up the scenes that take place in Japan. He also eluded that the movie can be considered the series' ninth episode. The series' most recent episodes aired on December 26 and 27.

The movie, based on the one-shot manga of the same name, follows Rohan as he explores the Lourve and has an adventure centered around a 200-year-old cursed painting. He first learns of the painting by a young, mysterious woman who tells him that it was apparently made using “the blackest ink ever known”. Intrigued, Rohan makes his way to Louvre to unearth the painting, releasing a curse.
Although nothing more than a trailer, visual, and release date have been announced so far, keep your ear to the anime ground to learn where you may watch the premiere of the movie.
