The Batman Arkhamgames allowed Hamill, 72, to explore a darker and more violent side of the Batman mythos for a more mature audience. But we also can’t deny that Tim Burton’sBatmanand Bruce Timm’sBatman: The Animated Seriesmade significantcontributions by redefiningBatman as a dark hero.
Batman: The Animated Serieshad darker plotlines than one might expect for a children’s show, but it still gained popularity among both younger and older viewers. However, because of its violent content and subject matter, the series ran afoul of TV studios, forcing creatives to tone down some of the show’s stories to conform to the then-current television standards.

Many of the original creatives, including Conroy as Batman and Hamill as the Joker, returned to work on theBatman Arkhamgame series. Not only were the final products incredible superhero games, but they were also fantastic Batman stories that offered fans’ favorite actors an opportunity to explore a different interpretation that focused on more mature storylines.

The Batman Arkhamseries features some of Mark Hamill’s best work to date as the character. The actor, however, declared in interviews that he felt his time as the Joker was over afterKevin Conroypassed away, saying that it would not feel right to revisit therole without the late actor.
Nevertheless, the two actors’ distinct chemistry for their roles is evident in theBatman Arkhamgames, and it blends in well with their work onBatman: The Animated Series. Hamillmade the following comment in an interview withEmpire:
