Even the best shows have their off days, butCriminal Mindsreally went off the rails with this one. The worst-rated episode in the series’ history was so bad, not even Thomas Gibson or Joe Mantegna could save it. The plot? A total trainwreck. The pacing? Slower than Hotch filling out paperwork. And the dialogue? Let’s just say fans were cringing more than profiling.

It’s the kind of episode you pretend never happened, the TV equivalent of an awkward family photo. If you’re introducing someone toCriminal Minds, this is the one youdefinitelyskip. Trust us, no amount of Derek Morgan charm can fix this disaster.
WhyCriminal Minds‘ ‘Future Perfect’ Is the Worst-Rated Episode And Even The Cast Couldn’t Save It
Future Perfectis easily theworst-ratedCriminal Mindsepisode. With Matthew Gray Gubler (Spencer Reid) sitting this one out—along with a couple of other Season 11 episodes—the show felt a little off. Gubler was taking time off, and fans definitely noticed the difference.
The case? A killer experimenting on victims to find a cure for Parkinson’s. Yeah, it sounds wild, but the execution was all over the place. Bodies found in a swamp, blood swapped between a healthy woman and an elderly man.

Animal DNA and Alzheimer’s meds involved. It had potential, but it was kind of all over the map. And with Garcia stuck at the office and Rossi casually playing poker, the vibe felt more like a bad Saturday night than an intense BAU investigation.
Then there’s the tragic side. An elderly couple, desperate for a cure, falls into the unsub’s trap. He’s more about fame than saving lives, and it ends in heartbreak. Robert, the unsub, drags the wife through a horrifying medical experiment, all while her husband is too far gone in his desperation to see the red flags.

In the end, it’s a sad mess of mistakes and desperation. But just as the BAU closes in, we’re hit with a cliffhanger. Cue the five-week wait. Yeah, not the episode fans were hoping for.
Fans CallCriminal MindsS11.E10 the Most Depressing Episode Ever and the Lowest-Rated of the Series
Fans weren’t exactly vibing withCriminal MindsS11.E10, calling it the most depressing episode ever. It ended up being the lowest-rated of the series, leaving viewers pretty bummed out. The heavy, downbeat tone was hard to shake off, and no amount of dark twists could lift the mood.
Some tried to lighten things up by joking that the unsub looked like a Daniel Tosh lookalike, but it wasn’t enough. This episode was all kinds of heavy, and fans were definitely craving a little more comic relief to break through the darkness.
