It’s a great time to be aWitcherfan! With just 10 more days until season 2 premieres,Netflixis revealing more and more exciting teaser content.

With never-before-seen monsters, magical threats, and political plots, the upcoming season certainly has fans eagerly awaitingThe Witcher’sreturn. To build anticipation, a recent Netflix promotional event brought an incredibleWitchermonster to life - the Myriapod.

THE WITCHERSEASON 2 MYRIAPOD STATUE

For a promotional event in Madrid, Spain,The Witcherteam displayed a life-size Myriapod in all its terrifying glory. Horrendously tall with spiked claw-arms and glooping human limbs, the centipede-like creature is truly a sight to behold.

Even further, its many eyes framed by curled horns create an awesome gruesome look befitting the world ofThe Witcher. Looking at the real-life figure, it’s understandable why this creature is one ofTheWitcher’s biggest monstrous threats.

Additionally, the@RedanianIntel Twitter pagerevealed more detailed in-progress photos of the Myriapod. After layers of spray-paint and highly detailed brushwork, the blank canvas turned into a contorted mix of human and monster. It’s a wildly impressive transformation that once again shows off just how talentedThe Witcherproduction team is. And, without a doubt, it only hints toward how good the creature design in season 2 will be.

Originally, the centipede-like monster was teased in a clip fromThe WitcherNetflix Twitter. Showing Geralt brandishing his sword, the monster puts up a difficult fight for the seasoned witcher. Of course, it just goes to show that the Myriapod isn’t all fangs and claws, and might pose a serious threat.

Additionally, it seems like the fight is a callback to one of Andrzej Sapkowski’s originalWitchershort stories. Initially, the Myriapod appears inSword of Destiny, a story that precedes the collectionThe Last Wish. This story is where Geralt and Ciri first meet, as he defends her from a myriapod in Brokilon Forest.
