Who Is Brian Durlin/Savant?
Brian Durlin will be played by Michael Rooker in the DC Cinematic Universe, making his debut in James Gunn’sThe Suicide Squad. However, many fans of the DC comic books will already be familiar with Durlin, after he made his first appearance inBirds of Preyissue #56 back in August of 2003.
The villain also goes by the name of Savant, and is the spoiled heir to an enormous fortune.
Durlin had originally moved to Gotham City so he could become a self-styled vigilante, but Batman had other ideas for Savant. After he was told by Batman that his lack of care towards others meant he was not fit for vigilantism, he decided to go a different route.
Savant decided to take his knowledge of computer skills and begin a blackmailing business with an ex-Russian KGB agent known as Creote. He then set out on his mission to discover the true identity of Batman.
Currently, James Gunn’sThe Suicide Squadis set to release onAugust 6, 2021,in the United States. However, with the current climate due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen release dates continuously get pushed back.
The brand new James Bond film,No Time To Die, was originally set to release in 2019. Now due to the current pandemic the world is facing, the current release date has been pushed back to September of 2021.
So, don’t be surprised if we see a delay to the release ofThe Suicide Squadsometime in the future. But for now, fans can expect to see the new DC flick towards the end of this year.
