Also known as The Razzies, the 44th Golden Raspberry Awards are soon to take place in early March this year, and the list of nominations is already in. Shocking names of actors have made their entries for Worst Actor, including Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, and Chris Evans. The A-listers will be competing against each other to bag the interesting golden raspberry statuette at the parody awards show.

Leading actors for Worst Actor at the 2024 Golden Raspberry Awards
Aimed to turn down the stress levels during awards season, The Razzies is a light-hearted ceremony encircling humor, fun, and well, some humiliation. Nominations for various categories are making rounds on the internet, and the list for ‘Worst Actor’ has name-dropped top-notch celebrities.

Meant for laughs and jokes, the Razzies, however, have gotten in trouble two times for making decisions that may have hurt the sentiments or disrespected celebrities. For the 2023 nominations, The Golden Raspberry Awards named child actress Ryan Kiera Armstrong, 11, for Worst Actress in the 2022 horror rebootFirestarter.OGFirestarter(1984) star Drew Barrymore condemned The Razzies’ act, and the latter had to formally apologize to the young star, perVariety.
Established by UCLA graduates in 1981, John Wilson is the founder of the parody awards ceremony. The Razzies had also proceeded to create a special category for action icon Bruce Willis before news about his Frontotemporal Dementia diagnosis surfaced. ‘Worst Performances by Bruce Willis in a 2021 movie’ was created as an ode to the star, but was scrapped later on after Willis’ family announced his health condition.

The Razzies do not follow a serious voting process, with anyone having the opportunity to drop in names with an annual membership fee of $40. However, a special committee has now been put in place for listing nominations.
