AsNarutofans know, a large part of Masashi Kishimoto’s series is based around Naruto trying to save his friend Sasuke Uchiha from going down the path of darkness. As he was his first-ever teammate, Naruto took it upon himself to save Sasuke from all the trauma he went through, and when he decided to seek Orochimaru and leave the village, Naruto made it his mission to bring him back.

This, in a way, reflected their friendship and also Naruto’s ability to never give up on anything in his life. He knew that in his heart Sasuke was a wise character who was just blinded by the darkness of revenge, and if he could get deep into his heart, he might save him. However, because of this he and many of the Konoha members let Sasuke get away with the most heinous of crimes.
However, things got out of hand during the Five Kage Summit, when Naruto got into a conversation with the Fourth Raikage and asked him to spare Sasuke for “kidnapping” his brother. This was the time when fans felt that Kishimoto went a little overboard with the bond between Sasuke and Naruto.

Sasuke got away with a lot in the series
Ever since Sasuke’s character was introduced inNaruto, fans had a feeling of sympathy towards him because of thetrauma he had gone throughas a kid. This is one of the reasons why somehow his mission to exact revenge on his brother made sense. However, as the story progressed, Sasuke’s need to kill Itachi grew to a point where he didn’t mind shifting to the bad side.

He pursued Orochimaru and accepted his proposal as it helped him gain strength. This led to a rescue mission that almost killed some of the best students of Konoha. Not only that, once Sasuke descended to the bad side, he completely let go of any form of kindness he had in himself. Still, instead of taking him down, Naruto and his team wanted to save him.
Thus, in order to do that, they let him get away with a lot of things. From trying to kill Sakura to joining the Akatsuki,Sasuke’s ledger of bad deedscontinued to grow until he learned the truth about his brother and thus decided to save theNarutoworld, only to destroy it on his own and completely transform it.

Naruto’s desire to save Sasuke went over the limit
One of the most diabolical things that Sasuke did was attempt to kidnap Killer Bee to extract the eight-tailed beast from him. This led to the Fourth Raikage declaring an execution order on Sasuke, which added more danger to his life. But when Naruto heard about it, he decided to convince the Fourth Raikage to veto the execution order, which seemed illogical.
Naruto went on to say that although Sasuke is a criminal, he is represented by Konoha, and if the Fourth Raikage kills him, he will declare war against his nation.

Not only that, he even went down on his knees and begged the Fourth Raikage to spare Sasuke’s life. This seemed out of place considering the fact that Sasuke was fully aware of the consequences of joining Akatsuki.

This is when things started getting out of control within theNarutonarrative asMasashi Kishimototook Sasuke’s rescue mission to a whole other level. Although Sasuke did get imprisoned for his crimes, many believed that his punishment did not justify the level that he stooped to.
