Somehow, over two years after first launching, players are still finding hidden secrets withinThe Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Just recently, one player happened to find a callback within the game that lies withinThe Legend of Zelda’sGameCube roots.

As first spotted byGameXplain, it seems as though the iconic starting village of Outset Island fromThe Legend of Zelda: Wind Wakerhas been included inBreath of the Wild. Well, at least sort of. The village in-game is referred to Lurelin Village and sits on the coast near one of Hyrule’s shores. While it doesn’t share any direct characters or other qualities that might have been found inWind Waker, the layout of the two locations are strikingly similar.

There are multiple different houses on Lurelin Village that are set in the same spot you would find on Outset Island. Other factors such is piers appearing in similar spots on both islands make the comparisons between the two all the more apt.

The image below shows just what I’m talking about:

While this could be a mere coincidence, it seems like those at Nintendo working onBreath of the Wildare a bit too smart to just have accidentally done this. The way outline of both Lurelin and Outset are far too similar. It’s almost certain that the team at Nintendo did this purposefully as an Easter egg. And it was a pretty darn well-hidden one, too, considering it took over two years for us to realize such a thing.

you’re able to check out the video below if you want to see more of this comparison in greater detail. Currently,The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildis available for play on Switch and Wii U. Nintendo is also inactive development on a sequel to the game right now.
