The Jaunt is a quest where things change. Instead of forging,the Blacksmith tasks you to find out what happened to his hands and the cart that they were supposed to deliverto Lord Semine.

Things won’t be very easy once you get to Semine as you will have to fight Jurko before you can even start looking for the Cart.

How To Start The Jaunt Side Quest
You can start this quest by going to Tachov and talking to the Blacksmith Radovan after you have completed “The Blacksmith’s Son”.Talk to him and choose the option “Tell me about the more interesting job.”
Here, exhaust all his dialogues to get as much information as you can about the hands. Next, you can check your map to find a marker for Semine.

As soon as you walk in, a cutscene plays where Jurko asks you to get him some wine, after which a fight breaks out. Your objective now is to defeat Jurko.
The fight ends regardless of whether you defeat Jurko or lose to him. So you should try defending yourself to not lose a lot of health.

The fight will end as soon as you draw your weapon.
Captain Gnarly will hear the noise and come to stop the fight, asking what is going on. After dealing with Jurko, he will ask who you are and will take you to Lord Semine as “you have some explaining to do”.

Talk To Captain Gnarly
During your audience with Lord Semine, it is decided that you will go with Captain Gnarly and the Lord to look for what happened to the cart.
Once you get to talk to the Captain, choose the option “I’ll be glad to join you.” to gain reputation. This is where he mentions that he noticed you came to Semine on foot and here you have a chance toget a horse.
Now he will ask if you have any more questions and you can exhaust all his dialogues. If you get to Semine at night, you have to wait till daybreak before you can meet Lord Semine and the Captain in the courtyard.
Captain Gnarly mentions you can sleep in the barn, but if you sleep in the wrong one it gets considered as a crime. Since you now have thefast-travelto Semine unlocked, it is best if you go back to your room at the Blacksmith and come back in the morning to continue this quest.
Where To Find Lord Semine And Captain Gnarly?
Go to the courtyard, and you should find Lord Semine ready with his horse waiting for you.Talk to him and choose “Let’s go!” and then “We can go” if you are ready to head out.
The journey here is rather simple, you just need to follow the two characters. The game even gives you the option to auto-follow.
If you didn’t get yourself a horse, then you can continue this quest on foot.
After riding for a bit, Sir Jan Semine will challenge you to a friendly duel. Accept the challenge and continue riding until you reach the pen.
Talk to Captain Gnarly and he will offer you his cudgel, which is a heavy weapon. Equip your newly acquired weapon and get inside the pigpen to fight with Lord Semine.
After the fight, go and talk to Captain Gnarly to get your performance evaluation.You should try winning this fight as you get the Captain’s shield as an extra reward.
You can now wash yourself and continue on the journey to look for the cart and the blacksmith’s hands.
Talk To The Bailiff At Troskowitz
Once you reach Troskowitz you will have a conversation with the Lord and the Captain. Next, you now have to go and talk with the Bailiff without mentioning Lord Semine.
Go to the Scribe’s house and find the Bailiff. Talk to him and ask if anyone has seen the cart. Exhaust all his dialogues to find out more about the hands.
Once your conversation with him is over, go back and report to Sir Semine about your findings and how the cart was last spotted near Apollonia.
Lord Semine decides to go look for the cart himself. Continue the quest by following him and the Captain.
Investigate The Crossroads Near The Cemetary
Lord Semine will now instruct Henry and Captain Gnarly to investigate the road for clues.Go northeast, and you should find a sack of charcoal on the ground.
Go back and report about the sack to Lord Semine. He will declare that the group must continue the journey and will go left. Auto-follow the duo until your next stop.
Investigate The Crossroads By Apollonia
Turn back from where you stopped and go west to find a sack of charcoal on the ground.You should see a rock nearby with orange and yellow markings.
Follow the trail on the ground to the north and you should find the cart. Choose the explore option while standing next to it, then report it to the Lord and Captain. You will continue looking for the cart in the rocks.
Continue following them until you reach the camps and can hear enemy sounds nearby. Have a conversation with the duo, and they will send you to scout the camp.
Peek at the campers from a distance and report back to Lord Semine. You now get to choose whether you want to use the high ground to shoot at the enemy or ambush them.
Attack The Bandits And Investigate The Camp
Irrespective of whether you choose to ambush them or shoot from above. Once the enemy is aware of you, a fight breaks out between Henry, Gnarly, Jan Semine, and the bandits.
Defeat the bandits and go back to Captain Gnarly. A cutscene plays where you learn the bandits you attacked were a patrol group. You now go after the remaining bandits.
Head to the next location and a cutscene plays where you find out Ventza betrayed the blacksmith.
Henry and Jan Semine will confront the enemy while Gnarly will launch a surprise attack with his crossbow to even the fight.
After defeating these bandits, Gnarly will tell you to go after the hired hand.
Where To Find The Hired Hand Ventza?
Check the map and go southeast from the camp to find Ventza. He won’t be ready to go back with you. Here you get a choice to pass a skill check to bring him back.
Choose “You’re no match for me!” as it has higher points, and you have a better chance of succeeding with it.
If you fail the skill check, he will try running away where you have the option of either killing him or letting him go. You do need to report your actions back on whether he fled or died. Luckily, no matter what happens to Ventza, you can still complete the quest.
Bring the hired hand back to Lord Semine if you pass the skill check. He will now tell you to report what happened back to the Blacksmith and will offer you a ride. You should take him up on that offer to have some extra dialogues with Franzi, Ventza, and Gules.
Report To Radovan About The Cart
Once you reach Troskowitz you can dismount. Open the map and fast-travel to Tachov.Go to the Blacksmith and tell him “The cart has been found.“Henry will now update Radovan on whatever has happened so far. He will now reward you with a cuirass “Rusted plate”.
The conversation will now change to Blacksmith needing first-class steel to be able to forge a sword which will be the wedding gift. This unlocks the next side quest, “The Hermit”, which you need to complete to get to the wedding.
