After entertaining us for more than four months, it’s finally time to part ways with The Eminence In Shadow season one, as the series was booked for 20 episodes in total. We are yet to get an official announcement regarding the second season’s production, but just recently, a few reliable Twitter sources hinted that season two was already in the making.
The preview for The Eminence In Shadow Episode 20 reveals the battle between Eminence and Beatrix, and Iris joined the latter to defeat Eminence. But his combat skills far exceed theirs, and as a result, he easily overpowers them. The preview ended with Eminence unleashing his true potential.
What Happened Previously On The Eminence In Shadow?
The episode started with Iris practicing before the tournament and showing confidence in herself and her powers. Cid and Iris sat in the VIP seats to watch Claire’s next match, and Iris informed him that she had another match. Beatrix also arrived and said that she was looking for her niece.
Somewhere else, Perv was drugging the king to bring back Rose and hand her over to the Cult of Diablos. His ultimate plan was to make the king assassinate the King of Midgar and start the war. In the meantime, Claire won her next match and looked for Cid, who was missing from the audience again. Now it was time for Iris and Mundane’s match, and the former had an illusion of getting beheaded by Mundane. The illusion instilled fear in her mind.
We then saw someone in disguise entering the VIP seats and witnessing multiple corpses lying on the floor. After some terrifying illusions, Iris was finally ready to attack Mundane, but the latter took her down with one single move. The disguised person turned out to be Rose, who apologized to her father and then killed him, freeing him from Perv’s control. She then tried to kill herself; however, Cid stepped up to save her and revealed his true identity as Eminence.
Rose remembered that Cid was the one who motivated her to learn to use a sword when he saved her from the bandits when she was young. Rose finally escaped, and Beatrix realized that Eminence was a wanted terrorist, after which she engaged in a duel with him.
