While fans eagerly await to see Mendes’ take on the project, it will be a long time before the film arrives in theaters. It is reported that Mendes will be working on the projects until mid-2028. With the earlier reported plans to release all four films in a single year, Mendes’ films will take years to hit theaters.

Even if Mendes reconsiders his initial decision and decides to release the films one by one, the first film will reach theaters only in 2026. Mendes will start the production of the project in 2025. With the mountainous tasks of script writing, filming, editing, and marketing, it would take a year minimum for a single film to be released in theaters.

While it’s a depressing update, it also presents no concerns to fans about the quality of films Mendes intends to put out. The1917director taking his time with the films will do more good than harm to the biopics.
