Call of Duty: Black Ops 6is set to be released later this year and the gaming community is beyond excited to see what the combined effort of two developers has to offer. The franchise’s gameplay has been pretty straightforward, and fans hope to see something new for this installment.

It can be daunting to create a new gameplay feature and mechanic for a franchise that has been around for the last two decades. The omnidirectional movement was highly regarded as revolutionary but even the developers were unsure if it would work as planned or intended.
The Omnidirectional Movement in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Is a Doozy
The omnidirectional movement in a first-person shooter game can sound ambitious and exciting, and only if the developers figure out how to make it work without making it look ridiculous or unnatural. One talented fan showed off his work and bragged howhis version of the omnidirectional movement is better than what was shown in previews ofCall of Duty: Black Ops 6. The fanmade project was jaw-dropping and the developers should take notes.
It was only a matter of time for the developers to talk about this new feature and they have in arecent interview. Matt Scronce and Yale Miller discussed how this feature and justified it.

Yeah, there’s definitely been some rethinking, like the example Yale gave of diving on your side, which was just not possible before Black Ops 6.
Scronce realized that omnidirectional movement could pose a challenge and continued:

But even, say, a prone scenario, where we may have a conversation and say “hey, you know that movie scene where the guy is rolling around on his back and rolls to the side and shoots under a truck, and then turns around the shoots the enemy coming through the window?”
The combat opportunities this new feature could provide will spice up the gameplay. It may be a learning curve for some but the player base is down for anything that may give them the edge against enemy players.

Players can get creative in handling combat situations with the new gameplay animations. It could get them out of a bad position and give them a fighting chance.
Black Ops 6 Will Set the Tone for the Future of the Call of Duty Franchise
This could be the change the series needed to keep up with other live service games. Developers should consider the entertainment factor of these games and how they could appeal to the community.

Weapons inspired by other franchises likeBatman’s Bataraangare coming to the game and will elevate the combat. Players will likely throw themselves in a match and make some dive bombs while throwing this deadly weapon.
The developers have some valid reasons behind this new feature and realized in a real-life scenario, that not everything has to be running forward or toward gunfire. Players can sprint and run sideways to duck behind cover or get a better angle against the enemy.

Activision could use this feature in future titles and get back on the right track for the series. The omnidirectional movement can be a game-changer or a game-breaker for some. With an entirely new system being put in place for the game, it’s understandable that it may have broken other, more familiar mechanics, and as such, we can expect a few teething problems upon launch. How many bugs and how big the issues are is yet to be seen, but if nothing else, we can expect Treyarch to do its best to continue itsCall of Dutydominance.
