XDefiantis a title that was hyped to be a title that would give tough competition toCall ofDuty. This was especially crucial because, in the last few years, the latter has sustained and even grown in popularity despite its dip in quality due to its lack of a profound competitor.

A fan posted about the lack of in-game XP boosters on the game’s subreddit. Little do players know that XDefiant has XP boosters, which are just poorly implemented.

While Ubisoft’s free-to-play FPS shooter did a lot of things right, it got a lot of things wrong, too. One element that players think the game needs to fix is the game’s progression system. However, if the past is any indication, it is less than likely that Ubisoft will listen to the fans anytime soon.

A Fan Suggests a Quick and Easy Way to Make XDefiant More Rewarding

Ubisoft’s recent free-to-play shooter was released to mixed reviews on all platforms. Many gamers in the community are pointing fingers at the developer studio. At the same time, some feel that that game deserves more support than criticism, mainly because it was only released a few weeks ago at the time of writing.

An area in the multiplayer title that fans almost unanimously dislike is its sluggish progression system, which barely rewards grinding matches with XP. A fan recently posted regarding this glaring issue on the game’s subreddit and even suggested a fix:

While the post received a lot of upvotes, meaning that fans appreciated the idea from the OP, one community highlighted Ubisoft’s infamy around monetization and microtransactions. The biggest offender of this would be the recently releasedSkull and Bones. And since a free-to-play title relies solely on microtransactions, there is a very slim chance that the game allows players to get paid items for free.

The game got a lot of things right but unfortunately also got a lot of things wrong.

But after the fan posted this comment on the game’s official subreddit, another one pointed out a trick that could help regular players get the most out of the game in terms of XP.

XDefiant Has Boosters Available for Players, but Activating them Is Counterintuitive

However, another thing that the game didn’t get quite right was letting players know about XP boosters. While a player also highlighted that the game has boosters and shared how to claim them, a user made a Reddit post soon after, sharing the procedure with everyone else.

This is how one can claim or activate XP boosters in Ubisoft Connect and make grinding the game more worthwhile than it currently is for most:

It is an inefficient UI design and a fundamentally weak reward loop if players have to exit the title to claim in-game boosters. Also, Ubisoft should undoubtedly look to add this in future updates as this will ease some trouble for players and help with the title’s player retention.
