Recently, the trailer forTerminator: Survivorswas shared, and fans may have had a mixed response to this one. The game is an open-world survival adventure true to its roots and will set the context for players to survive against Skynet.

Let’s be honest, the game looks too good to be true.

As exciting as the premise may seem, gamers across the board are a little worried given how the failure ofThe Day Beforehas set a pessimistic tone for upcoming open-world games. Especially if they deal with survival mechanics.

Terminator: Survivors Will Arrive as Early Access on Steam Later This Year

The game’sSteam pageprepares gamers for a 7-month wait period until we’ll finally get to have a taste of this sci-fi survival open-world. However, the announcement for the same has the community a little skeptical, for very good reasons.

Upcoming Steam Game Looks to be Everything The Day Before Should Have Been

In recent times, games likeThe Day Beforehaveleft a bitter aftertaste. These are the very games that promise a lot but deliver close to nothing. Gamers areworriedthatTerminator: Survivorswill share the same fate. However, it’s too soon to comment on the same, considering how we haven’t even seen the gameplay yet.

The trailer doesn’t show much, but it explores a solid backdrop for what exactly sets the tone in this game. There’s the involvement of the classic Skynet and a bunch of rebels trying to get through with their daily lives.

While the Timeline May Feel a Little off, the Game Sticks to Its Source Material

The trailer shows two survivors (possible rebels who are fighting against Skynet) who are looking to make it across town. Unfortunately, they have to stop for fuel and step out of their car in hopes of scavenging. As they stay cautious and feel a hint of victory, the trailer shows a T-800 ready to hunt them down.

A New Base-Building, Open World Game Is Following Palworld’s Footsteps

It’s terrifying, it’s exciting, and it’s everything an open-world sci-fi game can and should be. Well, at least from the trailer alone. Some users havepointedout that it feels a bit weird to see a T-800 in a modern game. However, it looks like the game is going to be a spin-off, so maybe the timelines can be excused.

Until we get some actual gameplay footage, it’s tough to frame an opinion entirely in favor of or against the upcoming game. That being said, an open-world survival shooter set in a world that has been popularized by movies before? It sounds like an exciting idea.

The game’s environments showcase a world overrun by dangerous AI.
