The show was created by prolific showrunner Taylor Sheridan ofYellowstonefame, which gave this production a great amount of prestige usually associated with his work with all the production issues that come along with it.

In this show’s case, there have been no updates of a director being brought on to the show while the original showrunner Terence Winter returns to it as a writer after leaving the production almost a year ago due to creative differences.

While other productions would love to have a stable crew for their shows and films in the very traditional sense of the word,Taylor Sheridanand 101 Studios do not follow this formal path, which is why many of his shows have a very imbalanced involvement of the crew. This holds true forSylvester Stallone‘sTulsa King, which now finds itself in a chaotic environment.

A year ago, it was announced that original showrunner Terence Winter had taken his leave from this project due to creative differences with theYellowstoneshowrunner, but now, reports have come in (viaDeadline) that claim he will be returning to the show as a writer for the upcoming season. Along with that, Winter will also serve as an executive producer on the show going forward.

But a concerning news about the production is that despite Season 2 already announced to be released for the fall of this year, there has still been no confirmation that could name a director for it, only reports of a deal being made between 101 Studios and a potential candidate. This might prove to entail a devastating consequence where to make the deadline, the production will have to be ramped up exponentially, to which the quality of the show might take a big hit.

WhileYellowstoneand its spin-off series have all been the major success stories under Sheridan’s supervision, they have also been the biggest sources of off-screen drama associated with the showrunner.

This biggest drama from the show was related to the exit of Oscar-winning actor Kevin Costner from the show due to scheduling and creative differences with theWind Riverdirector. Apart from that, the show has been called a ‘Red State’ show for being claimed to be conservative with its narrative, which Sheridan has since shut down with his remarks.
