As long as you know where to look, you’ll have no problem platforming your way to all 100 of them. Remember these places even after you buy everything, just in case you need any extra yellow coins.
Forest At The Beginning
The Odyssey always parks a small forest whenever you land in the Wooded Kingdom. There are a few bunches of purple coins here, so nothing should stop you from immediately grabbing these after a departure. Before showing the rest, you’ll notice the above pictures side-by-side are only different in a purple circle.Purple coins can be picked up again, but you will only earn regular coins, just like recollecting Moons. Also like recollecting Moons, only a faded outline will be seen for a previously collected coin. The circle is there because some of these outlines proved hard to see, but remember, if you are collecting these coins for the first time they will appear as purple as their name implies.
You’ll find these coins gathered near the trees, mostly their trunks as only one in this area requires you to climb. None of these should prove tricky, just run and jump around and you’ll likely spot them quickly, with only one batch involving a bit more of the game’s mechanics.

Follow the wall just behind the Odyssey, while there you should also pick up the coins on that wall, but you will want tocontinue to the left until you come to a clearing of large trees. There’s a Moon up high in a climbing section that requires you to Capture an enemy namedUproots, but first, you’ll want to Capture that enemy to reach these purple coins.
Through The Iron Road
Coins are more frequent here, and many will require further use of Capturing an Uproot. The pictures above will prove enough to match the specific corners and crannies, just remember to look up high at every chance you get, and to walk down every path that’s open to you.
This path however may prove sneakier. This hole in the wall can only be accessed by making Mario crouch walk and is located just between the crowded charging station and the Lady Goomba, Goombette.

And this one is being further explained only because the picture may be deceiving. This is not an area you glide to or even strategically jump around into. When in the area the tank is in, just move past the stone wall you’d have to shoot with the Captured tank’s cannon. The path is skinny and hard to spot, and will then involve using Mario to platform until he reaches this corner holding purple coins.

You access the Deep Wood by falling off the edge of the world, but remember this only works in most areas, so it’s still possible to kill Mario doing this. For a safe bet, jump off the edge in the area where the Odyssey lands. This first batch of coins will be found on a log leaning over the edge.
This batch will also be on the top of a log, you’ll be able to tell the difference between the two as one is covered with moss and leaves while the other is bare.

Finally, you’ll have toCapture a rock, and once you move this rock you’ve possessed you’ll open a tunnel where the coins are hiding.
Hidden Inside Secret Rooms
Take the warp pipe under the pond near the start of the Iron Road. This secret room will involve rising and flushing water, and a load of Fuzzies which Mario cannot defeat. As you avoid these Fuzzies, be sure to grab the purple coins at the bottom of the stream, they will be near the middle of the puzzle.
There’s a ramp with golden hoops and manyRocket Flowersat the bottom. Use Cappy to briefly collect those flowers, and run your way up to the door at the top of the ramp.Inside is a secret Tank puzzle, on the second floor you’ll find purple coins at the back.Stop Capturing the tank, so you can collect the coins, be careful you don’t accidentally press the button and go down before you’ve gotten these coins or you’ll have to do the entire puzzle over again.

The next secret door is close by, hidden in an alleyway, and above a section,Mario will have to wall jump to enter. This puzzle room is full of deadly purple ooze, and you run down a path of greenery before it vanishes.Quickly jump off at the right section to grab three purple coins.
Your final secret room is a doozy.Grab a seed from the dispensary robot, then bring it up the Power Block puzzle to the top of the Kingdom, and plant it in the planter to create a climbable vine.

Your final coins will be floating not too far from the start of the puzzle room. Just stretch up high at the right time and for long enough to collect all three.
