While the events of the upcoming game take place in a different region and a couple of centuries later, Jin Sakai’s legacy lives on.

Bearing this statement in mind,Ghost of Yoteimight be considereda spin-off, and it is very likely that a continuation ofJin Sakai’s story will still be on the table and may be picked up later.

Releasing in 2025,Ghost of Yotei will allow players to explore and experience the beautiful region around Mt. Yotei as a female protagonist called Atsu. It was also unveiled how the events of the story will take place in the year 1603.

Unfortunately,not much was revealed about the upcoming gameexcept the already discussed time jump and a change of regions.
However, digging deep into the trailer, a fewdialogues reveal thatAtsu is likely a hunter who is traveling up north with a different motivethan others.

Additionally,the protagonist can often be seen holding a long list of what seems like names in different shots throughout the trailer, hinting at how there is a set target of people she is targeting.
Ghost of Tsushima,released in July 2020, is often considered one of thebest PlayStation first-party titles.It remains highly likely that the latter part of Jin Sakai’s life would appear in Ghost of Yotei as a folk tale, and the studio would later introduce a mainline sequel to reveal what happened in reality.
