TheGame of Thronesprequel,House of the Dragon, has consistently shocked fans with its many spectacles, but at the same time has disappointed fans with its many arcs and plotlines. While fans had some big expectations from season 2, the season has left then massively dejected.

While there were significant moments that stood out, fans are saddened with the overall season, which seemed to be more of a filler-sluggish entry. Part of the issue its fandom has had with the season was how Rhaenyra Targaryen was treated and now they have found more reasons to be angry about, after knowing who Ryan Condol focused more in this season.

House of the DragonSeason 2 Screen Time Will Shock You

House of the Dragonseason 2 might have promised some brilliant battles and ravishing feats but failed to deliver on both fronts. Instead, the season seemed to be ascending more at a sluggish pace, with a premise that had a few good parts and hardly anything conclusive overall. Thus, letting down fans and their high expectations, the season was more of a mess overall.

While fans are angry, hurt, and dejected thanks to the many disappointing elements of the show, they have found another reason to despise the season: the total screen time awarded to each character. Primarily based on the feuding Targaryens and their battle to the Iron Throne, the series screen time is a shocker.

“They fumbled so hard with her”: A Pointless Emma D’Arcy Romance Arc in House of the Dragon Season 2 Not Only Butchered a Key Character But Also Reinforced a Dangerous Stereotype

As per Reddit user@Acceptable_Mix_6264, the character with the most screentime wasEmma D’Arcy‘s Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, which is shocking, given she was hardly given anything to work with and was largely inactive throughout the season. Although it is disappointing that despite her 01:44:20 screentime Rhaenyra hardly played a vital role, even more disappointing is the character occupying the second place in this list.

With a screen time of 01:09:10, it isOlivia Cooke‘s Alicent Hightower who was seen on the screen the most after her ex-best friend. A controversial feat, given just how much fans have despised the character, Ryan Condol focusing more on her is an astonishing decision, given how the series should be focused on the Blacks.

Fans Hurt as Alicent Hightower Gets More Screen Time inHouse of the DragonS2

Much of the events of the second season ofHouse of the Dragonare centered aroundEwan Mitchell‘s Prince Aemond Targaryen, yet the character does not even find himself in the top 5 characters with the most screen time. Instead, occupying the seventh place in the list with just 27 minutes and 20 seconds of screen time, it isappalling to think that Alicent Hightower gets more attentionthan him.

“They need to throw an open check at him”: House of the Dragon Season 3 Needs to Bring Back its Most Crucial Player to Save the Franchise and We Aren’t Talking About Daemon Targaryen

Already a controversial character, fans have pretty much hated her since the beginning of season 2. Her being ‘forced’ into the storyline while the lead character, Rhaenyra Targaryen pretty much does nothing, was already a topic of contention among fans. So seeing the total screen time Alicent has received,House of the Dragonfans are up in arms against the show’s creator Ryan Condal.

There was absolutely no reason for Alicent to be 2nd on the list to be honest. Such a waste of screentime

Alicent had no business having this much screentime. I love her but her scenes were practically useless

Alicent getting more screen time than Aemond and Aegon II combined is absolutely criminal. She’s absolutely irrelevant to the plot of the dance…

Alicent has more screentime than Aemond is acrime !!!Deamon had 1 h of hallucinationRyhaneyar had 1 h of doing nothingThis is why this season sucks

Aemond deserved more screentime. No wonder s2 was so boring

Ryan Condal had stated toDen of Geekthat the ‘children’ will be taking center stage in the second season ofHouse of the Dragonand that their stories will be more prominent. But seeing the screen time each character received, we know that hardly seems to be the case. Even though much of the plot revolves around Aemond, the character hardly has enough screen time, while a secondary character like Alicent takes up the majority of the plot.

AsHouse of the Dragonfans continue to protest, it is high time that the series should start paying attention to the fans’ demand and work to fulfill their expectations, since after all a show is nothing without its dedicated fan base.

House of the Dragoncan be streamed on HBO Max.
