Similar to other characters you will befriend in the game, you will have to give Leo gifts and complete his heart events to improve your relationship. Here’s everything you need to know about the secret character.
Who Is Leo?
Leo is a character that canonly be found on Ginger Island,which can be accessed when youfix up Willy’s boat in the back of his shop.To do this, you will need:
Leo’s schedule is as follows, based onthe day and weather:
In his hut
10:30 a.m.
Goes to the dock on the southern part of the island and stands at the entrance to the southwest part of the island
Goes to the jungle area near his hut and stands by the bushes to the southwest
Goes to the northern part of the island, stands by the Parrot Vendor
Goes to sleep
Goes outside to the Gem Bird Shrine using the entrance in the east of the jungle
Stands outside the front of his hut
Goes back inside his hut
Every Other Day
12:00 p.m.
Goes to the docks at the south of the island and stands beside the parrot perch
Goes to the northern part of the island and stands near to the entrance to the volcano
Goes back to the hut and to bed
11:00 a.m.

Once you repair the ship in Willy’s Shop, you’ll need topurchase a ticket for 1,000 g to reach the island.You’ll then find Leoinside a tree house on the eastern side of Ginger Island.When you arrive, he will be fearful of you and avoid you. He is close with the parrots of the island, and only trusts them. To get him to trust you, you will have toprovide the parrots with 10 Golden Walnuts.

How To Get 10 Golden Walnuts
Golden Walnuts canonly be found scattered around Ginger Island.There are atotal of 130across the whole area, so you should be able to find 10 without much difficulty. To make your search simpler, you’re able to gethints from the parrot inside Leo’s hut.Once you have discovered one, return to the parrot in the hut and hand it over, and then the bird will provide you with another hint.
A great and easy way to get Golden Walnuts at first istofish anywhereon Ginger Island.There are5 totalfrom this method. There will also be oneon the path to Leo’s hut, andone inside the hut by hitting the tree with an axe.You can also find one on the path to the Gem Bird Shrine. It will beto the south of it, hidden in some bushes.Our last recommended method to get5 Golden Walnuts is by mining Mussel Nodes across the island.
Best Gifts For Leo
When you have successfully given the parrots 10 Golden Walnuts and begun your relationship with Leo, you will have to treat him as any other character in the game and talk to him often and give him gifts. Leo’s Heart Events
Leo requires you tocompletesix different heart eventsin order to increase your friendship with him.Below, you will find an explanation for each event and how to complete it.
Leo’s Two Hearts Event
For Leo’s first heart event, you’ll want togo to the western part of the island anytime from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m on a sunny day.Here, Leo will approach you at the beach and ask you what you are up to. He will then ask you about the place you come from and if there are other kids there. Each response that you choose here willnot have any effect on the relationship.
Leo’s Three Hearts Event
Leo’s Three Hearts event will just consist of Leosending you a recipe in the mail for Poi.
Leo’s Four Hearts Event
To trigger the Four Hearts event, make your way to thenorthern part of the island anywhere from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on a sunny day.You’ll approach Leo from behind, and you’ll begin a conversation with him. He will tell you about his life on the island with the birds. Every choice you make in the conversation willnot have an effect on the friendship.
Leo’s Six Hearts Event
For the next event, you’ll want to go to thesouthern part of the island anytime from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on a sunny day.Here, Leo will meet Linus. He and Willy will offer to take Leo back to Pelican Town. Once again, the responses you choosewon’t affect the relationship.
Leo’s Seven Hearts Event
For the Seven Heart event, Leo willsend you another recipe in the mail for Mango Sticky Rice.
Leo’s Nine Hearts Event
To begin the final event, go to theMountain anytime from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on a rainy day.This event will show a few cutscenes of Leo’s life in Pelican Town and getting to know everyone here, including the other kids. He will mention that he still misses the parrots back home but enjoys living in Pelican Town.
