Rainbow Trout Catching Tips
The Rainbow Trout are fish with adifficulty of 45and a behavior of “Mixed.” This means they move normally and at a speed that’s easy to follow. As long as you get to the fishing spots and have plenty of time, you can catch them with no problems. You don’t need to worry about using a better fishing rod or having bait (though havingbait definitely helpsif you’d like to catch more than one).
The best fishing spot can vary depending on a variety of factors. If you want the best fishing spot in terms of time, then you’ll want to go to theriver in Cindersap Forest. It’s the fastest area to get to since it’s right below your farm. Going to the other fishing areas require you to go through a separate area between them.

In terms of available fish, you’ll want to go toPelican Town’s riverif you want the least amount of fish getting in the way. Including the Rainbow Trout itself, Pelican Town’s riveronly holds five things you can catch on a sunny day, one of which only pops up at 6PM. If you want the possibility of catching evenmore fish, then your best option is theMountain lake. Other than the Rainbow Trout, the Mountain’s fish are available during any weather. They’re also available for longer periods of time.
If you want to fish in either Pelican Town or the Mountain,be considerate of your fishing zonewhen casting your line. Simply put, each tile in the bodies of water have a zone that’s determined by how far it is from land on all sides. The zones go up to “5” and can determine several factors of the fish that you can catch. For those that want the least amount of fish involved, it might be in your best interest to not cast your fishing line too far from land, especially since the Rainbow Trout is aneasy fish to catch. For those who want even more fish to catch, fishing as far from land as possible works out for you.
