Ahead of the release of theSplatoon 3Chill Season for 2022,Nintendohas released the version 2.0.0 update, revealing a ton of new content coming to the action shooter, such as two battle stages, weapons, game modes, decorations, and battle cards. The latest software update will become available for download later today, with the new content launching onNovember 30that 4:00 PM PST.
Splatoon 3 version 2.0.0 introduces two new battle stages, main-weapon types, titles, stickers, splashtags, gear, and about 50 new items that will be added to the store product lineup as part of the Chill Season 2022. Flounder Heights and Brinewater Springs will join the catalog of stages tomorrow, each having a unique architecture with different themes.

A new multiplayer mode, X Battle, will also be available to play with the update, bringing two separate divisions, Takoroka and Tentatek. Players will take on other players in online matches as part of season-long sessions to increase their X power. After playing five placement matches at the beginning of the season, players will start a series of matches to climb up the ranks. The X Battle mod has players reaching three wins or three losses, whereupon X Power is gained or reduced based on the outcome. Player divisions will be determined with the first time they play in an X battle during the season.
The update brings notable changes to specifications for main weapons, sub-weapons, and special weapons, which will directly affect the multiplayer mode. Points required for some specials, such as Aerospray MG, Splattershot Pro, and Jet Squelcher, have been changed. Some parts of the Undertow Spillway stage have been renewed based on player feedback. Furthermore, players can now reset their rank using the ZL button on the Lobby menu. Keep in mind that this feature can only be used once per season.
There will also be changes to Salmon Run, as it will receive a new feature that allows players to save and replay job scenarios. Data relating to the Big Run event has also been added with version 2.0.0. Last but not least, the update introduces a renewed Tricolor Battles, in which players can enjoy the attacking and defending side regardless of the halftime results.
Splatoon 3 version 2.0.0 also includes more than a hundred bug fixes to player control, multiplayer, Salmon Run, story mode, and Splatfests to improve the player experience. Players can download and install the update today, with new content introduced as part of Chill Season released tomorrow at 4:00 PM PST.
