The very first episode of Solo Leveling might’ve indicated that Sung Jin-Woo would possibly go on to cross his current class and grow stronger as a hunter. For the brief answer,yes, Sung Jin-Woo will become an S-Class hunter, overtaking most of his peers.

Solo Leveling is off to a great start!
After the party walks into the dungeon, aka the Cartenon Temple, and completes the trail under the supervision of the weakest of the lot, Sung, the protagonist, is left behind. It is then that the current E-Class Sung was given an opportunity to become the player of the system on the brink of death and live in return.
Further down the story, Sung utilizes the system and gains extraordinary powers through Double Awakening, which is known only to him, thus becoming a powerful S-Class hunter. Interestingly, as his destiny would have it, not only does Sung become a powerful hunter, but humanity’s best hunter.
Sung Jin-Woo’s journey to become the greatest hunter in the world is both pleasing to watch and tells an excellent story about his character. Despite getting to the top and accomplishing everything he wished for, Jin-Woo remains a kind soul, just as he was when he was an E-Class hunter.
