Early-access forSkateis nearly here and the development team have shared an in-depth look at character creation, apparel, music, and how the seasons and skate pass will work. The latest blog post from the Skate team shows off a long list of impressive customization features for skaters to look forward to, including curated playlists and unique gestures you’re able to perform mid-trick.

At the end of July, over a million playtesters were invited to try out thehighly-anticipated game, packing each server with 150 skaters. While an NDA is still in effect for the playtesters,The Grind: Vol 5blog post gives us some great insight into the exciting and innovative new features.

Skate Devs Reveal Deep Catalog Of Customization Features

Skate’s seasonal content works in standard fashion, and will have four seasons per year, with new music and cosmetic rewards added each season. The skate pass will offer gamers the ability to progress through the game and complete challenges for free rewards, orpay an additional fee for a premium pass.

Skaters can also purchase the in-game currency, San Van Bucks, which can be used to buy premium cosmetics, but the Skate team says you don’t need to spend extra money to earn great rewards.

There’s a lot to unlock by simply playing the game and earning rewards.

In servers packed with 150 players, it won’t only be a competition about who can pull off the best line, it’ll also be aboutwho’s got the best drip, and there’ll be no shortage of it to go around.

“Apparel, accessories, and boards are where you set your style. Starting off, you’ll have just a few options, like the “I♥️SV” shirt, some basic pants and shoes, and basic deck setups (design, griptape, trucks, wheels).

That’s where those challenges and missions come in. Complete challenges to earn Rip Chips (only earnable through gameplay) and then hit the Shop to turn those Rip Chips into gear.”

Customize everything from your eyebrows to your griptape, and curate your own playlists using songs you find around the city using an in-game app:

“You’ll hear it blaring out of speakers in skate spots, teasing you from the top of buildings, and even from passing cars. Just run up and use Grabster when prompted”
