While Keiichi Toyama might best be known as the man who created Konami’sSilent Hillfranchise, the developer has recently released a new horror game last year titledSlitterheadunder his new company, Bokeh Game Studio.
Unfortunately, the game’s reception was less than ideal, and there’s no word on how it did commercially either, which is never a good sign.

Christophe Gans' sequel is out in early 2026.
If you were hoping for a sequel to amend the game’s mistakes, that might take a while before that happens.
Speaking toFamitsu, Toyama talked about Slitterhead’s reception among gamers and how the title caused confusion since people didn’t knowwhether it was a horror or action game, which is something he wants to avoid doing in his future projects.

When asked about Slitterhead’s sales and whether it was a success, Toyama admitted that it hasn’t achieved that goal yet, stating (via machine translation), “In terms of sales, to be honest, we need to keep selling for a longer period of time. However, as I mentioned earlier, as a result, this work is not simply a work that aims to make something that can be sold as a product and sell a lot.”
Talking about sequel plans, Toyama says he is open to the possibility, but not right now. “I don’t know if I can make a sequel story right away. I think there will be a time when the inevitability meshes in the future, but at least not in the immediate future.”

Different editions and pre-order bonuses revealed.
When asked about Bokeh Game Studio’s new project, Toyama shared, " Yes,I can’t tell you the details, but I’m working on the next one.At first, I wanted to make it a studio where I could do a lot of things, including lighter projects, from the ideas of young people. But now, I feel like we have to face it again with the full strength of the studio. We are currently working toward that goal. It’s still early days, so I think I’ll tell you more details in the future."

There you have it. While the possibility of a Slitterhead sequel isn’t exactly dead, it won’t be a while since Toyama and his staff are currently developing another game. Given the horror game’s reception wasn’t that great (it currently hasa “Weak” rating on Open Critic), Bokeh might not be in a rush to develop a follow-up right away.
In terms of Toyama’s other creation, Bloober Teamhas been tasked to remake the original Silent Hill, though not with Toyama’s involvement.
