Shin Megami Tensei VNew Trailer:

As you can see, this newShin Megaten 5trailer gives us for the first time some information on the game’s setting. Apparently god died and everything started spiraling down, with demons invading earth. The trailer also introduces what seems to beShin Megami Tensei V’s protagonist, and their fated meeting with some kind of supernatural being.

An official site forShin Megami Tensei Vis also liveover here.

Shin Megami Tenseion Super Famicom was also recently added to the games playable on Nintendo Switch Online. Only when connecting to the Japanese version of the service though, as the game never got officially localized. This was perhaps a sign that this piece of news was coming. Atlus alsogave us a development updateonSMT Vback in December 2019, alongside Project Re Fantasy.

Shin Megami Tensei Vwas first announcedin January 2017,during the official reveal of the Nintendo Switch a few months before the console’s release. It’ll be the first numberedShin Megami Tenseigame sinceSMT IV Final (Apocalypse),first released on Nintendo 3DS in 2016.

Personally, I can be a very “no fun allowed” person when it comes to jokes on the net, as I have a very hard to please sense of humor. So besides being interested in the game itself, I’m quite happy we finally have news aboutSMT V. That way, all the jokes about the game not existing, being canceled and whatnot can finally stop. In any case, now, Atlus should be starting to regularly reveal character and story setting information for the game, most notably via Japanese press releases. As always, I’ll be doing my utmost to translate these, so stay tuned.
