The easiest way to farm Mitama is by inspecting treasures pointed out by your navigator like Amanozako. There is a small chance investigating the treasure will trigger a fight with Mitama. The first thing you need to do is use Spyglass on the Mitama to check their weakness. Then, use a Skill or a Shard of the right element to defeat the Mitama.
If you end up in a situation where 4 Mitama have spawned it’s best to keep doing this strategy rather than shooting off a random AoE skill and trying to get all four.Do not use a Shard to hit one Mitama’s weaknesses, the others will Block and you’ll lose 2 Turns.
Note that if you’re unlucky, the Enemy Phase will come first, and the Mitama will escape.
How to use items with Demons to farm Mitama
After destroying the Abscess at the south of Shinagawa, you will unlock the Knowlege of Tools miracle, which allows Demons to use items. This is crucial when farming Mitama, because not only the Nahobino but all your Demons in your party will be able to use Spyglass to check the weaknesses.
You should prioritize buying the Miracle Knowlege of Tools as fast as possible. It will make your adventure inShin Megami Tensei Vmuch easier overall. It’s one of the best Miracles by far.
How to use Grimore and Gospel items
Note that when using a Grimoire or a Gospel, it only gives you enough EXP to level up, but you don’t actually level up; You’ll need to do at least one battle first for the level up to occur.
Personally, I’d recommend saving these items as much as you’re able to for the endgame, where it’ll be crucial to build very specific, powerful Demons party members for some of the optional boss fights.
Farming Mitama with the paid DLC inSMT V
You can also buy the three DLCs that increase the appearance rate of the Mitama, they are $3 each. I personally wouldn’t recommend buying this unless you’re really in a hurry to farm, seeing their appearance rate is already pretty high by using the treasure finding method I explained above. Note that even if you buy the DLCs, you can turn on and off the increased drop rate in the game options.
