Despite describing Alba as hard to work with and feeling bullied by her, Ackles revealed that the actress never failed to show up when he needed a friend. Ackles stated how Alba comforted him after his grandfather’s passing. He said:
My grandfather died while I was shooting and she literally just walked into my trailer and held me for half an hour,
Ackles also revealed that he and Alba eventually developed a friendly relationship and had moved on from the initial tension in their work dynamic.
