The Future Games Show at Gamescom had several different titles to showcase, but if you are looking for a Monster Tamer that isn’tPokémon, then there is a new game that you can check out. For those who don’t know, Monster Tamer is a sub-genre of RPG games that typically involves capturing or collecting monsters in some way.
In the 1-minute and 15-second trailer, the game showed a few things along with some mechanics that don’t really happen to match Pokémon. But considering what happened withPalworld,Nintendomight have a few things to say when the game does eventually release.

New Monster Tamer Serial World Might Be A Nintendo Lawsuit In Waiting
Thetrailerstarts with you opening a door from a void, waking up in your room, grabbing a bag, and heading out for your big adventure. And as it continues, we see the player having to pick an Anima withthree monsters to choose from.
Rather than having just four combat moves, Serial World gives you a set of six cards to choose from while also giving you the option to reroll them, which is most likely where its roguelike and roguelite elements will come in.

Then you have more common elements, like having the ability to access your bag or to end your turn.
However, a major similarity can be spotted when the Anima evolves. They undergo an animation that is somewhat similar to when youterrastallize your Pokémonin Scarlet and Violet, with the main difference being that, instead of looking crystallized, the Anima gets a completely new form.

But considering that we saw what Nintendo did to Palworld over similar mechanics to Pokémon, it isn’t hard to imagine that Nintendo might come for Serial Project or Kakehashi Games.
The good news is the game isn’t out yet, and the planned release is set for 2026. So, there is a good chance that the developers may change some things that may appear similar just to be safer.
