Bleachis finally getting a new game, and no, it’s not a mobile release this time. A full-fledged release of PC, PlayStation, and Xbox is on its way!

Things aren’t smooth sailing in the fandom right now, however. Before the official announcement at Anime Expo, a datamined trailer had leaked, leaving many people disappointed and concerned. With such strong opinions formed before the official trailer even came out, it’s going to be tough to get people on board for this game.
The Datamined Bleach Game Trailer Was a Doozy
Around a day ago, leaker SergioM3R posted a datamined trailer of the upcomingBleachgame,Rebirth of Souls.
While people were excited for a new game in the franchise, they hadn’t expected this.

The trailer looked questionable at best, but one of the biggest problems seemed to be that it was an arena fighter—the one genre people were hoping it wouldn’t be.
It didn’t do much to inspire others, who immediately began doom posting about the trailer. Is this what they waited so long for?

People were heavily put off by the possibility it was an arena fighter game, and they made sure not to hide it.

Arena fighting games seem to be super disliked by the fandom, especially since it’s the go-to genre for anime games, it feels like.

How can you say that? When we just got a 2v2 Arena fighter with JJK? Like it is oversaturating the market. Where are the musou themed anime games at?
If this is whatBleach: Rebirth of Soulsended up being, it would kill the interest of many people before release.
With the release of the official trailer and website, everyone’s doubts can be laid to rest. Unfortunately, it’s not the answer they want to hear.
Rebirth of Souls Trailer Doesn’t Do Much to Ease Fans
The official trailer forBleach: Rebirth of Soulshas come out, and everyone’s worst nightmare has come true. The game is yet another arena fighter.
Many people were simply happy that there was anotherBleachgame coming out, so the reception hasn’t been too terrible. A lot of the fans remain hopeful.
I get it arena fighters are annoying but if it looks good and plays well just like I’m hype for sparking I’m hype for thisbut I’ll wait for full game play to make full judgementsLooks good so far though 👌🏾
So long as theBleachgame is good, some people are okay with playing a release in this genre.
A few people couldn’t help but notice the similarities to theJujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash, which was, you guessed it, another arena fighter.

Not everyone agreed with this sentiment though, as this tweet had several people pushing back and denying the similarities.
“I almost teared up”: Jujutsu Kaisen Fans Take Another Loss After Latest One Piece Game Update Outdoes Expectations
With so many anime games recycling the same concept and model, it would be nice to see ones that do their own thing. SeeOne Piece Odyssey,Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, andAttack on Titan: Wings of Freedomfor example.
These games may not be the pinnacle of gaming (depending on who you ask), but they offered fans a new experience that wasn’t just pitting a few of their favorite characters against one another for some random reason that had to be made up for the game’s plot to work.
