Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio(RGG) is hosting auditions for the next Like a Dragon game, as revealed by series director Masayoshi Yokoyama on anepisode of Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio TV.

This announcementwas teaseda few days ago when the livestream was scheduled, with RGG promising “an important announcement.” Yokoyama revealed little information on the new title besides confirming that the game is not Kiwami 3.

“It’s not Kiwami 3, I’ll just say that. I think we’ll do Kiwami 3 at some point. I think we’ll definitely do it sooner or later,” Yokoyama revealed (thanks,Gematsu). The auditions will be in a similar vein to the ones held for Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, where Sega was seeking performers for live-action roles.

Kiwami is Like a Dragon’s remake series, with Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 released in 2016 and 2017 respectively. Though Yakuza 3 has a remastered version available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, the game has yet to receive the Kiwami treatment.

Yakuza 3 saw its protagonist Kazuma Kiryu moving to the island of Okinawa to run an orphanage. It was praised at release,holding a score of 79on review aggregator Metacritic. It’s unknown whether the game RGG is holding auditions for will be a sequel toLike a Dragon: Infinite Wealthor a spin-off is unknown.
