The Corruptor is one of the many bosses you’ll encounter while exploringRemnant 2’s bizarre worlds. While not necessarily one of the game’s most difficult boss fights, the Corruptor is certainly not to be underestimated. Especially since you’ll need to go up against two entities during this fight.

Similar to manyWorld of Warcraftraid boss encounters, the Corruptor has an easy mode and an optional hard mode. You’ll get a reward regardless of how you decide to go about fighting the boss, however, killing the Corruptor on hard mode will net you a much better item.
Updated on July 13, 2025:This guide has been updated to include a video that shows how to avoid getting instantly killed by the Corruptor’s beam attack.

The Corruptor can be found on Yaesha and is considered a mandatory boss fight. Thefight takes place in an area known as The Great Bole, a medium-sized arena that contains few points of interest besides the boss itself and a couple of platforms.
Killing the Corruptor allows you to clear Yaesha and progress the campaign. As always, you can return to the world at any time afterward to complete optional quests, loot items, or use theBloodmoon Altar. If Yaesha is your very first world, you’ll get access to The Labyrinth once you defeat the Corruptor.

Preparation
This fight involves some platforming and a fair bit of dodging, sowe recommend dressing light before jumping in. Pretty much any armor set that substantially lowers your weight will do the trick, but something with Shock Resistance would be particularly handy for the second phase of the fight. TheSpace WorkerandRealmwalkersets are both pretty good candidates.
If you want to go with heavy armor, the ideal Archetype would have to be the Challenger sinceits Prime Perk allows you to survive the Corruptor’s nuke. That said, any Archetype works just as well provided you’re able to dodge the attack instead of trying to tank it.

As far as weapons are concerned, you’ll want something with high damage and/or a high rate of fire. You’ll have a limited window of time to attack the boss when its weak spot opens, so pretty much any weapon with burst damage should work just fine.

As mentioned earlier, you’ll have to deal with not just one but two entities during this fight. The Corruptor itself may look more menacing, but its Guardian is more dangerous. For the most part, the Corruptor is happy to sit in the back and let the Guardian do all the fighting. The Guardian is an aggressive enemy that will fling its limbs at you before trying to engage you in melee. Its ranged attacks are fairly weak, but you’ll want towatch out for its spinning melee attackbecause that one hits like a truck. Ideally, you’ll want to try to dodge these attacks, turn around, and go for the head since that’s where you’ll find its weak spot.
Once the Guardian has been disabled, the Corruptor will travel to its location to bring it back online. Take this time to focus exclusively on the Corruptor and use all your cooldowns to inflict maximum damage to the red core found on its underside. If your DPS is through the roof, you might be able to straight-up kill the boss during this phase. If it’s not, the Corruptor will revive the Guardian and will go back to its starting position afterward. Once it does, the boss gains access to a devastating beam attack.
While you’ll still want to keep an eye on the Guardian during the second phase of the fight, you’ll also need to avoid the Corruptor’s beam. This is a very powerful attack that can one-shot any characterand the boss will start using it at regular intervals for the remainder of the fight. The trick to avoiding the beam is tojump to a different platform shortly before the boss unleashes the attack. The boss arena consists of three platforms, the big one you start off on and two smaller ones located on either side of the large platform. Check out the video below to getter a better idea of when you should start using the platforms.
The Guardian can also jump between platforms and isn’t affected by the beam, so you won’t be able to get rid of it that easily. In addition, the Guardian’s attacks become stronger in the second phase of the fight, so you’ll need to watch out for that as well. Depending on how much damage you managed to inflict in the transitional phase, you could try to simply dodge the Guardian while focusing all your firepower on the Corruptor.
The health bar is shared between the two enemies, so you can prioritize either of them at any point. However, the Corruptor takes far less damage when its weak point isn’t exposed, which is why you’ll want to prioritize the Guardian at first if you’re planning to finish the fight as quickly as possible. On the other hand, you’ll need to do the exact opposite if you’re looking to reap the best possible reward from completing this fight.
Killing the Corruptor without disabling the Guardian will reward you with the Hollow Heart, a unique crafting material that can be used to create a powerful Greatsword known as Stonebreaker. Meanwhile,if you kill the Corruptor after disabling the Guardian you will be rewarded with the Twisted Lazurite, a unique crafting material that can be used to create the Twisted Arbalest. This Long Gun isn’t terrible, but there are much better options out there. You won’t be able to get both rewards on the same playthrough, but you can eitherreroll your campaignor jump intoAdventure Modeto pick up the item you missed out on.
